Be my guest.
Hi Mr Morris,
You’re quite an inspiration!
Please I need your advice on steroids. Are they safe? What are the side-effects? I have being working out for over 10months now and desire to grow bigger muscles, but unfortunately, I fall under the “hard-gainers” category!
Secondly, what’s the best abs workouts as my abs seem to be shooting out Not flattening since I started working out aggressively.
Thanks.
Your Fan.
P.S: Did I mention you’re soooooo sexy?
Hi Eric
I have received 3 questions on steroids in the last 2 days. When I was considering doing the blog I knew it would come up. Both of your questions are subjects I feel deserve an in depth reply so it will take me a couple of days. Check back in a week or so. Yes, I do advise steroids. In the meantime buy and read Dan Duchane’s “Underground Steroid Handbook II” as it goes into more technical info than I can. I will relate my personal experiences and those of others I personally know.
A coworker at the Main Branch of The New York City Public Library invited me to go to the gym with him. It was 1954 and Mid June. I was 19. The gym turned out to be a corner of the basketball court of St. Mary’s Community Center in South Bronx. I lived in Ozone Park in the suburbs of Jamaica, Queens. This place was straight out of the movies. It was hot and humid so everyone in the gym was in Speedos. As I approached the mats in the corner about a dozen guys lit up with smiles and welcomed me and wanted to know where I worked out. I had never experienced anything like that before. I joined the YMCA in Jamaica and got the same reaction. There were a couple of guys in the gym who were doing pretty good in local Olympic lifting competition and I sort fell in with them because they were the only ones who seemed to know anything. In 1956 Russia invaded Hungary and The Hungarian Olympic lifting coach escaped to New York and resettled in Queens. The first thing he did was to contact his American counterparts on the Olympic Committee. Rudy Sablo, Chairman of The AAU Weight lifting Committee sent him to the Y. He formed a team and I competed on the team in the 181lb class until I went into the Air Force in 1961. During those 5 years lifting was my passion and Coach and I became great friends. He was a great coach and a wonderful person. He told me about the Russians and their use of steroids and how he felt about them. He was very knowledgeable about them and very positive. My relationship and trust of Coach predisposed me towards steroids. So when after my discharge in 1966 I was able to get some I took them with never a thought of possible problem and it remains so.
In 1969 I moved to LA and was fortunate to become a personal friend of a doctor who was willing to prescribe and monitor and be in charge of my program. He did throughout my competitive career.
As for side effects there is a wealth of unbiased information out there, I would start with http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Steroid and http://www.amazon.com/Underground-Steroid-Handbook-II-Incorporating/dp/B000NWKVXQ .
Remember you are not going to compete so it will not require massive amounts. Start off with moderate amounts as Duchane recommends and discontinue once you have reached your goal. Steroids are in much wider use in the general public than is thought. It is just that use has such a negative reputation that most will not readily admit to their use. The sports scandals of the last decade have aroused the interest of the general public such as you. Notice there has not been any report of any of the accused athletes having health problems from the steroids.
Although the scandals were about cheating most think they were about a health danger. Which there is with any medication, but used in moderation and common sense pose no greater threat than others.
I have never had a problem from them nor can I honestly say that I personally know of anyone who has. I have heard rumors which have never been substantiated.
Hi Jim
